163 3.18 UGPA
Hey Everyone,
Just wanted some feedback.
Oct. LSAT - 163 (retake in December w/ practice tests at around 168-166)
UGPA - 3.18
Master's Degree - 4.0
Strong softs - 1 year as a residential counselor, 3 years directing educational programming for students at a non-profit. I am very interested in studying Public Interest Law.
Schools...
Boston University
Boston College
Fordham
American University
Temple
Rutgers-Camden
Northeastern University
CUNY
I know my numbers aren't up to par with my top three schools but do I have a shot at getting waitlisted at any of those schools?

Because of that stellar Master's degree and work experience, I should be surprised if BC and BU didn't give you strong consideration. If that LSAT score was just 5 points higher you probably would have been in with no questions asked. I think you've got a good chance at your listed schools and that you should even try aiming a little higher, go for it!

Out: BU, BC, Fordham
Shot: American, Temple, Northeastern
In: Rutgers, CUNY
Your softs are decent, but your GPA will be hard to overlook. I would advise a retake.

Thanks for the encouragement/advice.
I am planning on retaking in December. As I said above I'm in the 166-168 range on the PT's (which I know mean little). If I do manage to raise my score by 5 points do I have a shot at BU/BC/Fordham?

Your GPA is on the low side, but you will have a shot, albeit a small one.mt1042 wrote:Thanks for the encouragement/advice.

Everyone has a high Master GPA. Not that special. Also, just 5 point higher? Lol no.Peg wrote:Because of that stellar Master's degree and work experience, I should be surprised if BC and BU didn't give you strong consideration. OP, I agree basically what Heavenwood said. Even if you get WL, many times they are soft rejections. A retake would help you immensely, even with your low GPA, maybe opening up those top 3. Don't sell yourself short; retake until you get the score you want. Best of luck bro.

The only thing you can do to get into some of the schools you listed is to either find out that you are somehow a URM, cure cancer, or to retake the LSAT and score significantly higher.mt1042 wrote:rad law wrote:Everyone has a high Master GPA.Unfortunately I have found that to be true.
