3.62; 161; Chances at Temple?
What do you think my chances at Temple Law might be.
It appears that I'm at their 75% GPA and median LSAT.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

Just from looking at 161's on LSN, I'd say very good. There's a whole slew of applicants who got in with 161/3.4-3.6.

Their range actually increased quite a bit: 161-165 and 3.25-3.72, with medians of 163 and 3.5. Ergo, you are at 25th %ile LSAT and above median but below 75th %ile GPA. Temple is certainly not out of the picture, but it isn't an autoadmit either. The Gentleman wrote:Just from looking at 161's on LSN, I'd say very good. Where did you get these numbers? Is there a site with updated numbers that I haven't seen?
Thanks for the advice man...

Here is the data for the 2010 entering class:Bankhead wrote:So you need a 163 for even Temple now... holy shit.

And relax everybody, Temple is not a particularly median-sensitive school. They are actually quite forgiving of both splitters and reverse splitters, as seen here:

You don't actually. The numbers that Heavenwood was quoting are from this site: http://www.law.temple.edu/pages/Prospec ... _Clas.aspxBankhead wrote:So you need a 163 for even Temple now... holy shit.
This page only lists the numbers for accepted applicants, not the ones who actually ended up attending. Thus it does not reflect admissions standards as well as LSN does (of course Temple is going to accept a bunch of people who apply to it as a safety but never intend to go there, which throws off the accepted applicant statistics that they use). As was stated at the beginning of this thread, OP has a very solid shot which is not diminished by how their median numbers changed last year (because they haven't actually published their median numbers).

I never thought about it that way, fair enough.St.Remy wrote:You don't actually. The numbers that Heavenwood was quoting are from this site: http://www.law.temple.edu/pages/Prospec ... _Clas.aspxBankhead wrote:So you need a 163 for even Temple now... holy shit.

The website specifically says, "Profile of 2010 Entering Class" rather than "accepted students." Also, I think the posters in this thread are overstating OP's odds just a bit. While OP should have a reasonable enough chance to warrant an application, it should be noted that 161s have been waitlisted by Temple in recent years.HeavenWood wrote:I never thought about it that way, fair enough.St.Remy wrote:You don't actually. 25th/75th percentile GPA: 3.26/3.70
Median LSAT of accepted applicants: 163
25th/75th percentile LSAT: 161/165
While it does say Profile of 2010 Entering class the wording here is a bit ambiguous as stated above.

If you're in-state, can't get into Penn, want to work in Philly, and are working with a tight budget, the small advantages of going to a strong, neighborning regional school like BU or GW would be outweighed by the cost.whymeohgodno wrote:Going to temple with a 168/3.7?
