This would depend entirely on what type of law you want to practice, where you have ties and might want to potentially practice, and how debt-averse you are.toddyky18 wrote:I'm a AA male, with 7yrs in the military full-time. 3.3 gpa and 152LSAT score. What are some schools I should apply to?

Is the military paying for it?

Why does it not matter? Do you not plan on practicing law? Do you want to be able to pass the bar? Are you interested in obtaining a job after law school?toddyky18 wrote:It really don't matter where at this point I just want to get in somewhere
I suggest you put in some time really researching law school. Browse through the separate forums on this site. For pure predictions of how someone with your numbers will fare, check out lawschoolnumbers.com, Chiashu and HourUMD.

The military is paying for most if not all of the cost. My main three choices is either Howard,Miami, or Brooklyn law schools. Going to a top law school is reaaly not a concern of mines. I believe once everyone graduates from school its going to take more then a degree to become successful

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but placement is definitely helpful at becoming successful, and the school you attend determines placement eligibility. I have a very close relative who works for a big law firm and assists with recruiting people out of law school. They typically only look at graduates at the top 10% of the top 50 schools.toddyky18 wrote:The military is paying for most if not all of the cost. You're right that placement isn't necessary for becoming successful, but it is definitely an advantage. If I were you, I'd retake the LSAT and see if you can get into the mid 160s. With your softs and URM status, I'd say a decent LSAT score could easily get you into the top 30. If the military will pay for most of it, damn the expense.
Those are my thoughts.

How much did you prep for the LSAT? You have quite the advantage being a URM and if you can hit the 160's, you can go far.

Don't let your impatience hinder your eventual job prospects. If the military leaves you little time to study then study over a longer period of time.toddyky18 wrote:Im currently working full-time in the military,so trying retake I want be able to dedicate myself that much to study like I want.
