Your opinions needed

Post by Lawyer76 » Wed Nov 03, 2010 6:21 pm

If the school I am applying for accepts applicants in the 154-160 range and I scored 157 with a 3.10 GPA, (3.20 is their 25% range) what do you think my chances are. Thanks for your opinions.

What do you mean by "accepts applicants in the 154-160 range" ? Is that the middle 50% range, or the entire range of accepted students. Also, what is the school's median LSAT score ?

Assuming you're quoting the 25/75 range, your chances are effectively zero, since the school's median is almost certainly going to be 158-159.

Thanks for the quick response. The median LSAT score is 158 and the Median GPA is 3.5.

Do you think that if I had good work experience and was a bit older than the average applicant that would help in their decision?

No, because GPA < 25th percentile and LSAT < median = auto-rejection.

I guess after some thought I will apply. If I get a denial I can always try again next year. I hope that I do have a chance and it will happen for me.

P.S. The 154 to 160 was the range of accepted students.

That range is meaningless. Just tell us the school.
