UVA is known as being a splitter friendly school. So is Northwestern (high LSAT splitter with WE).jt1341 wrote:That i got into UVA with a 4.0 and lower LSAT..... non URM. whats your proof that it doesnt?whymeohgodno wrote:And your proof of this is...?jt1341 wrote:People on TLS are overly concerned about the LSAT. Since when is UVA=Duke? Look at Duke on LSN then see how many people with OP's stats got in.

stop bringing up LSN because you dont know how many people got in ED with those stats and didnt post on LSN (since MOST people do nto post on LSN)whymeohgodno wrote:UVA is known as being a splitter friendly school. Re: Duke?
If the OP had asked about UVA and not Duke then you would have some valuable insight there jt, but as it stands you don't. To OP: you can ED but your chances won't be that good even then. If it's your dream school and you have the cash then go for it, but if you aren't a URM your chances are slim to none.jt1341 wrote:That i got into UVA with a 4.0 and lower LSAT..... non URM. whats your proof that it doesnt?whymeohgodno wrote:And your proof of this is...?jt1341 wrote:People on TLS are overly concerned about the LSAT. LSN may not be perfect but it's closest to the best predictor we have. It would be foolish to take your hunch over data.stop bringing up LSN because you dont know how many people got in ED with those stats and didnt post on LSN (since MOST people do nto post on LSN)

Re: Duke?
Its more then a hunch. I am an officer in an organization where 100 people a year apply to law schools. I have been in this org for 3 years which means i have seen over 300 peoples cycle. I know FOR A FACT that people have gotten into Duke, non URM, no WE with around those numbers. I didnt want to get into it because people here hate the "i know someone who got in with those numbers" but i hate when people put to much of an emphasis on a self reported internet site where people could not post at all or completely liewhymeohgodno wrote:LSN may not be perfect but it's closest to the best predictor we have. I mean, if you did get into this information it might be valuable to the OP and others. I don't really get why you would post advice to a person and then not provide the reasoning that would make that advice actually useful.jt1341 wrote:haha i dont want to get into why i think OP would get into Duke ED, but i think he has a good shot.

Ivy should be a really small boost. Softs sound about average.dannyde7 wrote:I went to an Ivy, had two majors, honors in one, won some campus wide writing awards, been working in a unique job for 2 years (media related), done the whole volunteer thing. don't know if this means anything.

You have 2 years WE after graduation like full time? that will help you i would think. I dont know how WE helps people as i havent experienced thatdannyde7 wrote:I went to an Ivy, had two majors, honors in one, won some campus wide writing awards, been working in a unique job for 2 years (media related), done the whole volunteer thing. don't know if this means anything.

Because your anecdotal evidence> the anecdotal evidence of 180+ applicants to Duke on LSN.jt1341 wrote:2 people got into Duke ED last year with <3.85 and <164 non-urm non WE.St.Remy wrote:I mean, if you did get into this information it might be valuable to the OP and others. I believe this will help. Does anyone know how Duke views WE? or how importantly they view itdannyde7 wrote:Yes. Full time experience as a book editor with a major publisher working on major nonfiction titles. Some work with famous authors.
