3.61/173
Just curious what others' take on my chances to CCN through the rest of the T-14 are.
Additional info:
Division I Athlete
Master's of Accounting
Significant Community Service
Strong Recs (Just like everyone else, I presume)
In other words, average softs at best by TLS standards...
Thanks in advance!
Edited for typo

Re: 3.61/173
I'm hoping to. Hopefully I can get my apps out by sometime next week. Do you think that would be early enough? Additionally, I think I'm going to throw an app at H and S just in case they bite on my PS, though I'm not too optimistic for either of those or Columbia and Chicago.

i think ur in a good position for t-14, and MIGHT get in one CCN. if CCN is what u want, i'd def ED though.

Re: 3.61/173
I appreciate the advice. I'm hoping I have to face the decision of NYU at sticker (via RD) vs. Michigan w/ $$.fugitivejammer wrote:i think ur in a good position for t-14, and MIGHT get in one CCN. if CCN is what u want, i'd def ED though.
Anyone else have thoughts and/or suggestions?

Will get into Chi and NYU, strong consider at CLS, I'd imagine. Apply early. In at lower T14, excepting Berkeley.

Thanks. So you don't think I need an ED at Chi or N to get in?dresden doll wrote:Will get into Chi and NYU, strong consider at CLS, I'd imagine. Apply early. In at lower T14, excepting Berkeley.

i think u'll b W/L by Chicago for sure, but likely to get in NYU RD (still chance of W/L). i think u can use that ED successfully at either school if u wanted, but prolly get some $ at M to keep in the back of ur head.

Re: 3.61/173
I have a very slightly lower GPA and a 174 and I made the tough decision to RD everywhere. I'm crossing my fingers for an NYU acceptance and hoping I'll get to weigh that against money from Michigan and/or Penn. I'm applying to C and C, but don't think I'd choose either of them over NYU. I don't have the D1 athlete or Master's in Accounting softs, but otherwise I'm similar to you. It sucks, but unless you want to shut yourself out of money, do the RD. If you want to lock in an NYU acceptance, though, you may want to ED there. Still, NYU claims to give equal consideration to ED and RD applicants, though TLSers believe the ED candidates get some boost.
Oh, and HYS aren't letting you in. Sorry. Harvard is the most likely, but last cycle there was one WL->Accept from the 50 or so candidates with 171-175 and 0.00 - 3.66. Check it: http://harvard.lawschoolnumbers.com/app ... ,8&type=jd

Re: 3.61/173
Thanks for the input. What you described is pretty much exactly my thoughts on the whole situation. I've pretty much decided I won't ED anywhere. I think the possibility at Michigan is too good to forego that. Just like you I think my top choice is NYU, even with acceptances from C and C (I'm looking at tax law). I appreciate your thoughts
