Re: 3.15/162 Where to apply in DC/VA area
Even with a 162, you have a shot at American. When you retake and do better you will have an even better shot. The December retake may also give you a decent shot at George Mason.cojsterling wrote:I'm a non-urm and my nerves got to me on my first lsat and I scored 10 lower than my practices. I plan on retaking it in Dec., but will this get me into any schools like American? I have 1,000's of hours of community service ranging from being a volunteer firefighter for a few years and doing a cross country bicycling trip for charity. I have some really nice letter of recs as well.
Thanks!

You're below both medians at GMU and American, so you'd only have a chance for PT at those schools. A 163+ retake gives you a shot at FT, and you'd need 167+ for a shot at GW PT.

Thanks for the help guys, just one more question. I plan on finishing my apps this week and have them all ready to go except for the December lsat retake. Is it going to hurt my chances a lot to be applying that late in the cycle?

For GMU/American, it's far better to apply with a 163+ after retake than a 162 now.
