As the title says, I have a 3.78 GPA and have taken the LSAT twice with results of 159 and 170. I know my basic chances using LSP, but I am looking for any additional thoughts based mostly on the highly different LSAT scores. What schools should be my upper limit as far as reaches? Should I bother applying to any of CCN?
If you are looking for more info, my undergrad was at a not particularly high ranked private school. I have a Master's degree and probably nothing too special as far as other softs go.
Thanks

Write a LSAT addendum on 159 if you can, otherwise don't worry about it. It's unlikely they'll take your 159 as a better predictor of your ability than 170.karovda wrote:As the title says, I have a 3.78 GPA and have taken the LSAT twice with results of 159 and 170. 3.78 and 170 are pretty straight forward so LSN and LSP should be good.
I think you'll be good at all T7-T14. Maybe NYU.

First of all, CONGRATS on having the willingness and the motivation to retake. You are great evidence to all those "Don't retake" naysayers. Your 170 will radically change your career prospects.
I'd say you will be very competitive everywhere outside the T6. CCN will be tough to crack, but I think MVP on down are very possible, and with $$ too.

Thanks to you both. As for scoring higher the 2nd time, it was really a combination of a lot of smaller things that are the cause; I had been out of school a little while, didn't prep well before the first taking, took a prep-course before the 2nd and studying like crazy the 2nd time. I also scored a bit low the first time as I scored a 164 on my (comparatively) cold diagnostic with the prep-course.
