170/3.66 Best Options

Oct. '10: 170

GPA: 3.66 from UChicago

I want to end up in academia but I realize the top schools for that are out of my range. Any advice on the best schools for academia outside of the T6/ on my chances for these schools?

I would ED to Michigan, which has the best faculty placement outside the T6.
