3.63 - Graduated from Honors Program from solid private undergrad
Work Experience in corporate firm
Coauthored paper published in T10 law review
Incredible LORs from very solid recommenders
Tons of volunteer exp., including two year mission.
And-- cancel, cancel, 161. Bummed by my score after PT avg. 172, but whatever. Thinking of trying to work out a retake, but moving on as well.
I figure UT is out, but what about SMU and UHouston? I'm slightly below medians at SMU, but wondering if softs can make up.
Any thoughts on BigLaw/corporate out of SMU or UH?

UT is out. You need a 164 or so to really be a lock at SMU.
UofH is a distinct possibility, but if Biglaw is your goal, then UT / SMU ought to be your targets.
Your softs really aren't going to do much of anything for you.

Don't SMU and UH seem to have pretty similar BigLaw opportunities?

Not really. Dallas seems to have more Biglaw, Houston more oil and gas and such.
