Re: Strong numbers, weak softs
Your academic achievement is your GPA.catsparka wrote:179/3.95, but my softs are pretty weak.
Under "Academic honors and achievements" I literally don't have anything to list. No membership in honors societies, no fellowships or scholarships, no thesis, etc.
You were leader of a student group.catsparka wrote:As for extracurriculars, I'm a leader of a small student group but nothing else. No current part-time job, not much volunteer experience.
You have an internship and teaching experience.catsparka wrote:For summer employment, I have one internship and one small teaching gig.
One or more of these softs would be a good basis for a PS. The point of the PS is to show a side of yourself that does not come through in other components of the application. Did you change a life during your teaching job? Did a life change you? How about the internship? You worked awfully hard for those grades and that score. You might want to consider consulting an admissions counselor to be sure your PS is of the same calibur as the numbers.
