Chances at SMU?

Post by KAM » Sat Oct 30, 2010 5:49 pm

GPA 3.86. LSAT 157. I would be applying in the early non-binding program. This is my top school so I would really like to get in.

I got in with very similar reverse-splitter numbers. They typically want one of your numbers to be above their average, so your GPA will get you serious consideration. Make sure to do a good job on your "why SMU" paragraph. Tell them why attending SMU is so important to you, I think that helped my app a lot. Also, Applying early is key, otherwise you might have to wait a LONG time to find out if you got in. I visited with an admissions person last fall and sat in on a class. Not sure if that helped or anything though.

I think better than even chances. Your GPA is quite nice.
