Chances at T14?
Hi friends
3.62 GPA and (a disappointing) 169 LSAT on a 3rd take. (Other two LSATs both in the 160-165 range)
non-URM
T20 undergrad
I really love GULC but that is the only place I have visited - should I ED there/would it make a difference?
In reality my dream school is Columbia but I realize that it would take some kind of miracle to get in with my stats, ha.
That being said, which school in the T14 would I be smart to go ED at?
I looked at LSN and it seems Michigan and Cornell are good bets but I'm not sure how my multiple testing history will affect outcomes.
What would you say my chances are at all of the T14 (minus HYS of course)?
thanks you guys

Re: Chances at T14?
Cornell says they pretty much only look at the higher score if it is at least 2 points higher.
Hope that helps.

We'll you have no shot at the T14 except for Michigan and Cornell. And Cornell has no ED.MissLucky wrote:why do you say that? not a strong enough shot regular?Desert Fox wrote:Michigan.MissLucky wrote:ah, found it - thanks girlso anyone have ideas on a smart ED for me to go with?

Re: Chances at T14?
right I know but if I have a decent chance even without an ED wouldn't it be smart to not waste that ED and throw an ED to some place that is pretty reachy (but that i like better than michigan) for some hope that that would push me in (but where would it make even a slight difference is my question) - i.e. gulc, duke, etc.Desert Fox wrote:

I think you have almost a zero shot at Gulc, Duke, etc even with an Ed.MissLucky wrote:right I know but if I have a decent chance even without an ED wouldn't it be smart to not waste that ED and throw an ED to some place that is pretty reachy (but that i like better than michigan) for some hope that that would push me in (but where would it make even a slight difference is my question) - i.e. gulc, duke, etc.Desert Fox wrote:

But you are right about Mich. You've got probably a 75% shot there. Don't ED anywhere. You might get some money at Cornell.

I'm interested in this myself. Same LSAT, 3.7 LSDAS GPA. Same advice? I do have a 2 semesters of grades to factor into my GPA (both will probably be 4.0), would a LOCI at other T14 schools with the improved GPA give me a shot anywhere?
P.S. Sorry for hijacking your thread, OP. Good luck with your cycle!

What is your target market? If you have a strong regional school in it as your safety, I guess I could see not EDing. You're so borderline though, I would worry. Work hard on those Mich optional essays.

Re: Chances at T14?
hmmm well with a GPA over 3.7 i think you have a pretty significant edge over me - you could have a shot at GULC since your GPA would be above their 3.67 median (and that would maybe counteract being 1 point below their LSAT median even thoguh they are known to be more of the LSAT-whore type) and honestly maybe even berkeley (i know you would be slightly below their 3.8 median by the time you get your grades in but your LSAT would be between their median and 75th)TheOcho wrote:I'm interested in this myself. DC and NYC are my target markets. I haven't really thought about safeties yet but maybe GW for DC and Fordham for NYC?IAFG wrote:What is your target market? I obviously really only want t14 though. ack.

Then ED Mich. I think you will get shut out if you don't and I really doubt you are getting $ at Cornell.MissLucky wrote:DC and NYC are my target markets. hmm, okay. but $ is no issue (i don't mind paying sticker to anywhere in T14) - but you think my shot at Cornell is solid?IAFG wrote: Then ED Mich. I think you will get shut out if you don't and I really doubt you are getting $ at Cornell.

I'm not convinced that UM is as much of a sure shot that you seem to think it is for you.

Re: Chances at T14?
yeah, by far it isn't a sure shot (although the LSN sample looks promising). the thing is i don't know if i want to ED thinking well what if i would have gotten in anyways and could have maybe had other options...but apparently nothing else in the t14 looks good for me aside from cornellawesomepossum wrote:I'm not convinced that UM is as much of a sure shot that you seem to think it is for you.

Re: Chances at T14?
Your GPA is below median at every T14, and your LSAT is below median at every T14 besides Michigan/Cornell. Michigan is by far your best bet. It places great in DC/NYC so don't worry.
