159 3.39 Non-urm...please be honest. I can take it!
First time poster...just got my score. 159 with a 3.39 GPA--upward trend.
I am looking to apply to:
Loyola LA (early decision)
Loyola-Chicago
DePaul
Indiana University-Indianapolis (have family that live in IN...not sure if I would even go there)
Indiana University-Bloomington
Southwestern
Chapman
Pepperdine
University of San Diego
I have interned at two seperate law firms, worked for a summer at a financial planning firm, I am VP of a organization at my school, and involved in another club, I have two excellent LOR's and one I believe to be average, and I feel my personal statement to be strong. I am applying ED to Loyola-LA because I know a number of alumna who have graduated from there and have been VERY successful in their field of law (the same field I would like to go into). Please...what are my chances at all of the aforementioned schools??
Thanks so much and have a great Saturday!

Also, I have looked on law school numbers--but it seems that the majority of the posted users who have applied to some of my schools are URM (not all..but a lot), meaning their data doesn't help me much in figuring out my chances.

Retake or don't go. You pretty much can't get into any school worth going to in this economy with a 159.

I'd beg to differ on this... The only two people that I know who graduated last year from law school attended two of the schools mentioned above and both got awesome jobs right out of school. (one is making 70,000 plus and the other is making 90,000 plus). Though a re-take would probably be the best idea--I am just trying to gauge my chances in regards to how I stand now.
EDIT: FYI, those two schools were not IUB or Pepperdine

Dude, stop pandering for what it is you want to hear. Your numbers are bad. Retake the LSAT.

Probably 90%+ of their classmates were not so lucky. You wanted honest advice, and there it is.mmj99 wrote:I'd beg to differ on this... There's a huge difference in job opportunities between class of '10 (who did OCI in '08) and class of '14 (who will do OCI in '12). While maybe 20% of your friends' class got a decent job, your chances will be less than 5%.mmj99 wrote:I'd beg to differ on this...
