no need to retake for ccn. you'll probably get NYU. HYS will depend on how interesting you are. if you think don't think you're sufficiently interesting you should retake. (depends on what your PTs were like)

It really comes down to "yellow pentagon" (waitlist) interpretation.

NYU is pretty much a lock. You can probably attribute the yellow in your range to be flukes.

Chicago is trickier. LSN looks scarier than NYU, but I've found that chicago cares about other things like your undergrad, "fit" etc. (From the graph and anecdotally, it also seems like they yield protected last year)

CLS is sort of a black box in your (my? i had numbers similar to yours and I'm going there now) number range.

Where were you practicing around? Was 171 on the low end?

You're fine for CCN without a retake, but you won't get HY unless your UG is HYPS or similar (probably need 173+).

I wouldn't retake. So what, you averaged a 173/174 and got 2-3 points below your average? Best case, you probably get a 174 on a retake... Worst case you waste a lot of energy and get 171 again. Middle case you got a 173. With a 173/174 I don't see you breaking off a HYS waitlist. But there's a chance. So it might be worth it. Either way, I don't see you getting HYS with your current numbers.

If you want HYS, retake. Even a 174 greatly increases your chances at HYS, and if you can get a 175+ i'd be surprised if you don't get one of them. Also, the downside is low, because if you dip below your first score it won't hurt you much (if at all).

If you want CCN, no need to retake.
