3.96 GPA/ 165 LSAT Military Veteran. Advice on reaches

Post by ThomasMN » Fri Oct 29, 2010 10:41 pm

I was wondering if anyone had any tips for a military veteran, Iraq and Afghanistan, applying for upper tier law schools. Does anyone have any suggestions for putting together a personal statement etc. I have multiple good softs, VP Pre-Law Society, Captain of the mock trial team, I've interned for my Congressman. My reaches for school are Georgetown, UC Berkeley,Duke, and the University of Michigan. My top choices are Vanderbilt and the University of Minnesota. I would really love some advice as I come from a lower middle class family and almost no one in my family has received a college degree not to mention a graduate degree or law school.

Consider this applicant from a similar background: http://lawschoolnumbers.com/Black6Delta/jd

Read the guy's advice under Extracurricular Information. I'd consider getting in touch with him if I were you.
