3.9/163 Chances at Berkeley?
Hey all,
Just got my October 2010 score back, and to my dismay got a 163, which was significantly lower than my practice test average during the month of September, which was a 173. Aside from this test, I took one previously and canceled the score.
I am unsure of whether I want to take the test again, but if I was not planning to, what are your opinions on my chances at Cal? I have a fantastic personal statement, good softs and excellent LORs.
Anything perhaps I could do to increase my chances (aside from a December retake)? Basing your judgment on the fact that I averaged a 173 across 15 practice tests in September prior to the October test, should I retake?
EDIT: I am also planning on getting my October test hand scored, because I had significant erasure marks that I am now very suspicious of.
Thanks for the input.

Most likely dinged at Cal. If you are PTing at 173, keep studying and retake, because with that GPA you are in HYS territory.

Same, I see it extremely unlikely you are in at berk without a very impressive soft but you should definitely retake.

Thanks for your input. Just out of curiousity, where does a judicial externship as an undergrad stand as a soft in your opinion?Patriot1208 wrote:Same, I see it extremely unlikely you are in at berk without a very impressive soft but you should definitely retake.

for a place like berk, average-just slightly above average. Not nearly helpful enough.treeborn wrote:Thanks for your input. most softs stand in a lonely corner, far far away from the land of what matterstreeborn wrote:Thanks for your input. Retake. Getting a 170+ is a huge difference.
