I think that you are on the cusp - strong softs + applying early might do it for you for UT.

Eh... I'd say about a 25% chance at UT. Then again, in-state students usually get a good look. What about SMU?
OP, don't worry about settling for a school that you don't like. Even if you get dinged from the schools you want to go to, they'll be around next year. Sometimes the best option is to take a year off, get some work experience, and come back with something new to offer.

NW loves work experience, though usually they go for people who are not coming right out of college
GPA's are definitely in the range for just about all of these schools (might be a little low for Penn, NW) but the interview will definitely help
LSAT score will probably need to be about 168-169 range though to have a good shot at UCLA, Penn, NW, Minn, and Cornell. All others, 165 and up will get you in with some good money
