3.74 / ~176 / etc
Not URM (Asian female). GPA is from Harvard though; heavy course load including graduate courses and 5 courses/term. Is there an alma mater bonus? :/
Fairly decent "softs" -- won prestigious prizes early in my undergrad career, ran some student organizations. Later, had a tiny bit of burnout and other more-legitimate personal/family issues last year, am fixed now. (I'm currently a senior and contemplating taking a year off to apply next fall, but might apply this year as well.)
GPA should be about 3.78 by the end of the year, but of course that's still low for HYS. Predicted LSAT score is *not* confirmed as it is just from a number of diagnostics; I'm actually taking the thing in October. Thoughts?

Disregard my previous post. TCR.whymeohgodno wrote:Apply everywhere. Anything other than HYS, I would say you are a lock.

My thoughts would be...take the LSAT. From many accounts, my own included, it is very difficult to predict how you will perform on the day. Your gpa isn't bad, and if your LSAT is in fact that high, then I would think you'd have a good shot at a lot of great schools.
I also think taking some time before going to Law School can be helpful. If you do decide to take a year, it would be my advice to involve yourself in project management of some sort. It seems to be something law schools like to see, but just how much it really counts is probably pretty negligible.
Good luck

That's a fair point. I'm still studying in hopes of raising my scores a bit / insuring they are actually that high, but just wanted to have an idea of your thoughts of how my GPA would be seen given a challenging undergrad curriculumEdit: predicted LSAT score? lol.

What can you affect now, your UGPA or your LSAT?lackadaisy wrote:That's a fair point. Your outlook on law schools definitely isn't bleak. a 3.74 isn't bad...even by T14 standards. It's at or above the median for many of the T14 schools.lackadaisy wrote:That's a fair point. There's a substantial Harvard UG boost for HLS, so I think you'll have a decent chance with a 173+. Of course, a 3.78 GPA would be much better than a 3.74, so it also depends on when you apply. You should get into CCN with a 171-172.

WTF? I guess people with 3.4s and 175s should shoot for CLS, since a few got through, right?

sorry, a 172 would be sufficient for CCN. 173 would likely make OP a lock for at least one.dissonance1848 wrote:Look, OP needs 173+ for a chance at CCN. 175+ makes one of CCN lock. For HYS, you are out at SLS sorry to say, and unless softs are insane, YLS too. For HLS, that GPA is OK, because you are Harvard UG. That said, OP needs at least a 177+ for a real shot at Harvard.

This is horrible advice don't listen to this guy. Ask your counselor to see the graphs of Harvard UG applicants applying to HLS and you should get a better idea of the LSAT/GPA combo needed to get in.

Just wanted to echo that this advice is way off. You are in great shape. Only thing to worry about right now is the LSAT, though. Do whatever you can now to make that ~176 a 176 and you will have a wonderful cycle. That said, OP needs at least a 177+ for a real shot at Harvard.
