Hi everyone,
I have an undergraduate GPA of 3.1 from Emory University. I also have an MFA from Northwestern University (with a 3.88 GPA) and a LSAT score of 165. I'm looking to specialize in entertainment law in California. I have work experience with The Daily Show/Colbert Report and also with a minor league NBA team. Is UCLA in my range and if not, what schools should I consider targeting? Do T2/T3 graduates from places like Chapman have success in the industry? Thanks!

I have similar numbers and softs, and as much as I wish it wasn't so, I think both USC/UCLA are out of the question. You should look into Loyola LA if you want entertainment law.

Definitely apply to both USC & UCLA. Nothing is certain until the admissions committee sings.

USC/UCLA are unlikely, but I would send an app even on the small chance.
Consider retaking? Not that it will help as much as it would at other schools due to the fact that CA schools generally dislike low GPA's, but if you can push yourself above median or above 75th percentile it is definitely a new ballgame at most schools. Plus you could consider lower T14's as options as well if you do well on a retake.
