splitter -accept T20 or reapply for T14?

Post by roxydoxy » Thu Jul 15, 2010 10:08 am

need some input from fellow law school pursuers!

stats: top 20 UG 2.7/170, 7yrs WE, good recs.

i only applied to NU and GW at the very last minute. WL at NU, accepted to GW at sticker price.

should i be grateful that i've been accepted to GW and just go OR reapply next cycle ED to Georgetown PT (i think i might prefer DC over chicago)? Do I even have a shot at Georgetown PT?

thank you! i've been stressing out over this decision

With a 2.7/170, I think I'd take GW unless you can retake in the fall and pull it up. Since you've got 7 years of work experience, I'm assuming you'll want to start school asap, in which case, GW makes the most sense.

If I were you, I would ED to Northwestern the second they start taking apps.

thanks for your responses guys. i'm not too concerned with delaying a yr. that fear does creep in but i'm constantly reminding myself that in the large scheme, 1yr is hardly a big deal.

Sit out a year, ED to NU, you have a good shot. I'd also apply to most of the bottom half of the T-14, as well as the traditionally splitter friendly/LSAT whores schools.

TITCR. You're likely to get in if you ED early.

+1, unless your 7 years WE is in something the IP folks will be happy to hear about, skip GW for the time being for a chance at NU.

You should call the NU admin office today and see if they can take you off the waitlist and consider your application for ED fall of 2011 start.

Why not wait out the wait list?

There isn't a whole lot of data on NU ED. 170 is the bare minimum LSAT they'd take. 172 (their 75%LSAT) would be a lot more safe.

at this point, i'd prefer GULC ED over NU ED.
is GULC not as splitter friendly as NU?

thanks again people.

Try the waterman maneuver:

Apply part time, then switch your app to ED.

NU is a long shot with those numbers, despite the work experience. I think you should just take the GW or Georgetown PT or you might not get into law school and will have to wait yet another year.
