GW ED Presidential Merit Scholarship with 3.05 gpa

Post by sowhat » Wed Jul 07, 2010 9:36 am

I will sit for the LSAT in October with a crappy GPA (3.05 out of 4) from a foreign school.

I was wondering what score I need for GW ED acceptance. Current PTs: 168-175

I would appreciate any feedback.

pfff I don't know man.. you can certainly be admitted (even with a good scholarship) with a 170+ LSAT, but I think it would be pretty hard for someone with a 3.0 to get the ED (maybe with a 175+, but I'd guess not).

Edit: I am saying this as a splitter who got a lot of money from GW (my gpa was 3.21) and I got the 105,450 deal. I just don't think I would have gotten in via ed either. They tend to take above both median applicants (makes sense) for the ED (they seem to tend to be ppl interested in IP from LSN)

Thank you Teoeo. Do you mind sharing your LSAT score? Are you saying that it might be better if I apply for the regular decision? Can I still be qualified for 100% scholarship RD? Thanks again.

My LSAT was 167, although I should mention my numbers are a little low for the money I got. Id say I have pretty strong softs, and a good PS which helped. The money I got, however, is NOT as much as ED. ED is over 130k if you add it all up + it is guaranteed. My money, however, requires that I keep above a 3.0 (their median is a 3.2, so it isn't that bad). The one thing I would tell you is that if you manage to get a 170+ I wouldn't ED anywhere since you will have a very unpredictable cycle. That is to say, you might regret your ED to GW if you randomly get into MVP.
