I'm trying to remember the name of the complex... it was at a pool party at a place right near int'l mall. John something maybe? it was really nice.

Everyone will have their own opinion obviously. I don't know much about Louisiana, but I love New Orleans. Also, UF is not better for Louisiana, come on. It is better for Florida though, far and away, so if you are thinking of going back to Florida, go UF.

I think kalvano was mainly just saying "Go to UF do not go to Tulane because it is in LA and it sucks."pocket herc wrote:Everyone will have their own opinion obviously. I def do not want to practice in Florida. I really don't like living here. I've lived in a handful of states, including Penn, GA, Wisconsin, and have liked them all more than here. I also love places that have any southern charm, and I hear Nawlins has some

Well, if you have no love for Florida, then UF doesn't make much sense.

I was basically opining that Louisiana sucks and that I wouldn't want to go to Tulane because then I'd be stuck in Louisiana.
Also, not to really go for sports law.

Tulane is an oasis in New Orleans. Its very pristine.kalvano wrote:darby girl wrote:kalvano wrote:Yeah, Louisiana kinda sucks.
really? I would go to Tulane for the sports law program and opportunity to work on various journals and reviews. My dad loves the area, and I highly respect his opinion, but I've never been myself
PS. I hate Fl..
Sports law is kind of like a magical mystery land that everyone dreams of, yet no one really seems to know how to get there.
You'll have plenty of options that aren't in Florida, and by all means form your own opinion.
But I live right next to Louisiana, and it's the second-dirtiest state. I always feel like I need a shower after I go there.
The atmosphere in New Orleans is very relaxed or "slow". Its not for everybody. Priorities are different. i.e. cancel classes when Saints won Super Bowl this year. You should definitely visit. I loved it and go a few times a year, but still decided to go to UF.

If you definitely don't want to be in Florida, then don't go to UF.

If you do well at Tulane, you are not stuck in Louisiana. But you have to do well.
edit: also, even as a student here, I have no idea what one does in sports law.

And where does one go? Tulane doesn't exactly have national reach.

Texas, New York. Every year, even this year, we place students in these places. Not many, the better students, but it does travel to such places.

If you pay 200k to go to our school you have a 2% chance of getting a job in NYC.pocket herc wrote:Texas, New York. Every year, even this year, we place students in these places. Not many, the better students, but it does travel to such places.

I'm going to bet the people going to New York were both top of the class and had prior connections.pocket herc wrote:Texas, New York. Every year, even this year, we place students in these places. Not many, the better students, but it does travel to such places.
As far as Texas goes, you'd be close to the bottom of a list of good schools.
Anything is possible, but the likelihood of traveling with a Tulane degree is small.

Ok. I think you may very well be right, particularly ITE. About to go through OCI season and I'll give an honest telling of how everything goes down with my classmates and I.

For what it's worth, I have been as frustrated as anyone with the Tulane boosters on TLS. And I hope I'll be able to give a more honest assessment of what Tulane offers.

I do love Gainesville in respect to other places in FL. It def wouldnt be a bad place to spend 3 years. That being said, I would rather spend my working life elsewhere. UF has no pull in, say, GA?
