I think you can get into Tulane, and I bet with a decent scholarship. Which is good, because as much as I love the school, paying sticker for it would not be a great idea. G'luck, hope you decide to join us down here.

Also, retaking is not a terrible idea, just to give you more options and more leverage.

In at Tulane. GPA is at 25th, LSAT is 1 point below 75th.

Is that usually a recipe for an admit? It seems that I'm even better with the UF numbers, but I'm looking at a solid WL.kalvano wrote:In at Tulane. GPA is at 25th, LSAT is 1 point below 75th.

Yes, usually. You're not below the 25th, and you're up near the top on another (arguably more important) metric.darby girl wrote:Is that usually a recipe for an admit?kalvano wrote:In at Tulane. GPA is at 25th, LSAT is 1 point below 75th.

How the hell do you know that? Have you applied already?
LSP has you at "consider". Your LSAT is above their 75th and your GPA is slightly above their 25th. Even if they are looking to bump medians, you help. I'd say you're in.

You're above LSAT median and below GPA median, so it's sort of a toss up. So when are you making the trip to Tampa?darby girl wrote:rad law wrote:I swear every post you make I will make a plug for retake until you do!

Outside the city limits!darby girl wrote: I told you, I live in Tampa!! The firm I work at is in Brandon.
Just in time for the October retake! And no I haven't applied yet to UF... but according to LSN, my #s are all WL at UF. Interestingly though they do seem to be an admit or a WL--> admit at Tulane, which is nice. It does say for both schools it is beneficial to apply early.. so Sep 1/ Oct 1 I'll have my app in!

Where'd you meet him? I've met barely anyone.darby girl wrote: Ok, I live in "New" or North Tampa. Tampa Palms. but its still definitly tampa! I've met some serious douchey law school hopefuls/ grads in S. Tampa. One guy was bragging to me about his 160, and when I finally told him I got a 163, he snubbed me and said I was a liar!!! Yuck...

Tulane's apps will skyrocket this cycle due to the Real World being there.
(sounds silly, but it happened in 2000)
Maybe harder to get in, so retaking not too bad of an idea if you want chance of scholarship.
I say go ahead and apply if you love the city. Tulane loves to hear that you love New Orleans.
If no scholarship at Tulane then definitely to UF if you wanna be in Florida.

really? I would go to Tulane for the sports law program and opportunity to work on various journals and reviews. My dad loves the area, and I highly respect his opinion, but I've never been myself
PS. I hate Fl..
Sports law is kind of like a magical mystery land that everyone dreams of, yet no one really seems to know how to get there.
You'll have plenty of options that aren't in Florida, and by all means form your own opinion.
But I live right next to Louisiana, and it's the second-dirtiest state. I always feel like I need a shower after I go there.
