166/2.56
I've looked at all the grids and all the numbers and gotten an idea from them, but I wanted some actual human input and expertise so I've turned to you all.
My ugpa is 2.56 without any remarkable reason for it being so low; just pure underachievement
I got a 166 on the LSAT
i'm a white guy so I'm not an URM.
I've been out of school for 3 years now working as a restaurant manager in columbus.
I'm looking at Chicago for schools - Loyola, DePaul, Chi-Kent for fall 2011.
I'd love to get into Northwestern, but I doubt it's likely - I don't want to end up at J Marshall...
My question is two-fold what are my chances with my current numbers and would it be worthwhile to retake the LSATs?
I feel with some more focused study I could improve my score by at least 3 points, maybe more - my top pLSAT was 170.
Please let me know if i've left any necessary information out...
Thanks in advance for your help!

I am 2.3x, 166 and I'm going to one of UH/SMU.
The point being, if you're willing to expand beyond just Chicago schools, you can do better than Depaul. If you can get it to 170, then you bring UI-UC, IU-B, and WUSTL into play.
I also got applications in in mid-February, so I was behind the 8-ball in the admissions game.

But UofH / SMU won't carry him into Chicago unless he's top 2% in the class. Probably not even then.
So for Chicago, DePaul would be a better option than SMU. It's not about ranking, it's about networking and location.
OP - that's a bad GPA. If you think you can raise your score even a little, retake. It will help overshadow that GPA.

Retake. Literally one more point on the LSAT and you're looking at UMN, WUSTL, or UIUC.

Your numbers are shit and you won't be employed when you get out of it.
Stick to managing restaurants

Also, another 5 points and you are likely in ED at NW.
Retake.
