169/3.62, in at Fordham w/scholly.
Set on practicing in NY, applied late this past cycle (mid January), GPA went up in May after apps were in. Not entirely decided yet on what kind of law to practice, at this point would like to keep options open. Should I reapply or stick with Fordham and consider a transfer at the end of 1L if grades are good enough?
Thanks!

You're set on NYC.
Do you think you have a realistic shot at a school that places better in NYC than Fordham?

I guess that's part of what I'm trying to figure out.

Re: reapply this cycle?
How big is the scholarship? I'm assuming it isn't huge given that Fordham doesn't have a ton of cash.
If it isn't a big scholly, I'd apply early next cycle and try for Cornell. I think the upgrade is worth it for the NY market. I'd also apply to all of the lower half (7 - 14) of the t14 just in case some schools bite. But this strategy depends a little on how strong you think the rest of your application is; you aren't a lock for Cornell.
If you need to study in NYC, don't bother reapplying, NYU/Columbia are out of reach, and money at Fordham isn't a bad deal.

Thanks for the input. It's not a huge scholarship, 10K per year. I see part of the benefit of studying in NY that I'll get to build on some really good connections that I already have, but maybe I'm overestimating the importance of this.
Am I wrong in thinking that outside of the t14, Fordham is the best option for practice in NY? If that is the case, then I guess what I'm really trying to gauge is, do I have a decent shot at any of them, and if so, which (besides Cornell) place significantly better? I don't want to end up applying again and being stuck with some school outside the t14 that doesn't place better, and obviously it would be a waste if I just ended up going to Fordham in the end. It would be great to try and transfer to Columbia/NYU, but I'm fully aware that it would be foolish to think that that's definitely going to happen.

Fordham isn't a bad deal (with the scholly), but I would think an earlier app with your #s would you give you very good odds of getting into Cornell at the very least.
