What are my chances?

Post by McLovin » Thu Jul 01, 2010 4:37 pm

Hi, I have 3.65 from UChicago in Econ and 170 on LSAT. What could I shoot for? Thanks in advance.

Out at HYSCCN and Berkeley (and Northwestern if no work experience), good shot at the rest of the T14

Hmmm...I really want to go to Chicago. How definite of an out would that be? I have a very strong upward trend in grades, and I can get awesome academic recs. My other option is to just go to the UNC for cheap, but Chicago was one school I was willing to pay the extra money (well, NYU too, but I figured it was well out of my reach). Thanks a lot.

Chicago and NYU are both out of reach because you're just below both LSAT and GPA medians of 3.76/171 and 3.72/171, respectively. So unless you're a URM, those schools are definite outs with greater than 99% certainty. Berkeley loves high GPAs and Northwestern practically requires work experience. The rest of the T14 has LSAT medians of 167-170, so you have good to excellent chances at any of them.
