NYU versus UPenn ED

Post by PierceFromCT » Mon Jun 28, 2010 8:25 pm

Should I apply ED to NYU or UPenn ED? What are my chances? I have a 170 lsat (will retake and think I can get a 175). 3.26 GPA from Johns Hopkins. 3 years great work experience in entertainment in NYC.

I've set up the poll to select all that you think I can get into...

I think that NYU, even ED, is quite a ways beyond your range. Your 3.26 just kills you there. Even Penn would be a stretch. UVA ED would be a good choice.

I know the 3.26 killlls me, but I had a 3.9 GPA for my major, so graduated with Departmental Honors. I have a LoR from a former Prof who I've kept in touch with and thinks I'm stellar... and I've worked at the same job for 3 years so awesome LoRs there... annnnnd while in college, I had 2 majors and excessive extracurriculars--basically, I just spread myself too thin. I think BC and Cornell EA are reachable and UPenn ED doable with the right essays and PS, no?

Likely no chance at NYU, being below both medians (3.7/171). Much better chances at Penn ED since you hit their median LSAT.
