3.64/158--Top 100 School Forum

I graduated with a 3.64 and got a 158 on the June LSAT. The schools medians are 159 and 3.4. What are my chances this late in the cycle?

Are any schools in the top 100--as you call it--still taking applications? I'd bet not, but I could be wrong.

Regardless of whether you could get a school to take your application, it sounds like you are approaching this whole application process wrong. I'm sure I sound negative and such, but that is just the way it seems.

You are talking about starting in Fall of '10, right?

I suspect the answer is yes, that you have a reasonable shot at acceptance to these schools. In terms of applying at this point for Fall 2010, I think there are a fair amount of schools in T100 that will accept very late applications. I applied to one T50 school this cycle past their deadline and still got in with money (I emailed an assistant Dean and got approval to apply). That was only a little while after the deadline though.

Sorry for being vague.

My desired school that I speak of is Case Western up in Cleveland. I got a 152 on the September 2009 LSAT and completely bombed the February LSAT. I applied in February and didn't plan on taking the test again until Case emailed me and asked if I was interested in taking the test again.

Before I replied with a "yes," I wanted to tour the law school to make sure it was really the school for me. I immediately scheduled a personal tour with the Associate Dean of Admissions and made a fairly good impression of myself. She encouraged me to take the test again and I accepted her offer.

I took the June test and got a 158 (one point below their median). My undergraduate GPA is a 3.64 (their median is around a 3.4). This will be the first time they are reviewing my application (they had it "on hold" until I was done with the LSAT). Obviously, there are a much more limited amount of seats this late in the cycle, but I had no shot to get in with a 152 so I had to take the risk.
