Retake; the pithypike study guide or variations thereof seem to work for a lot of people.

Definitely should retake here. And spend much much more time studying, 3.5 weeks is not going to get it done. You could get upper 160s with some real study work. Use pithypikes as a starting place for sure as above posters have suggested.

As a fellow "white boy," I'm annoyed by your using that as a crutch.

No one conspired against you to deliver a crappy LSAT score. That's all on you.

There are plenty of seats at each of these law schools. Retake and do better.

EDIT: I wouldn't suggest a course; they're overrated. Do the PowerScore bibles and work off old tests, analyze your wrong answers, etc. If you put in the work, you'll improve.

Being white is not my crutch, sorry for the confusion. Thought I would just give out two essential facts in law school admissions: race and sex. My issue is my LSAT score and its discrepancy with my GPA, but I suppose high GPA's are easy to come by.

Honestly the reason I was unable to prep for the LSAT properly was because of my workload during my 2nd semester Junior year. 17 hours plus a 21 page history senior thesis = the hardest and most rewarding 2 months of my life. Really did not have enough in me to start prepping right then. But I have a feeling senior year will be easier: 13 hours, 3 of which are film class

Honestly though, I was not trying to imply being white would hold me back. Being lazy and overly optimistic did.

i've got nearly identical numbers (3.8, 159) so very curious as to what you choose to do. i'm 50/50 on retaking in october.

Let me get this straight. You averaged a 162 on practice tests and WashU/GW/ND/UIUC/UW were your backups? Every one of those is a reach with a 162. You'd maybe get into one at sticker price if they needed a high GPA... but your targets were going to be lower T1 schools, not the middle. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong and the 30s have 162 medians, I'm not as familiar with those schools.

Get the LG and LR Bibles and study. Study for hours upon end. Study until your eyes bleed, set the books down, wipe your eyes, and start again. Score a 165+ and you're in business.
