I have no idea what to do. Was hoping for a 173, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Do I have any chance at all at T30, T14, specifically BU/BC? Thanks.

lawschoolpredictor.com says you're out at the T14 but have a decent shot at a few lower T30s.

fwiw even with a 173 it says you're out of the T14. A 176 gives you a decent shot at Cornell.

Yeah, I just got out of undergrad so I'll have a year. Thinking about taking 2 years off and retaking. I was hoping for a 173 so I could ED to NU, but that seems unlikely with a 170. If I were to retake and get a 165-169 would it kill me? I rarely score below 170, but the thought of retaking worries me. Midwest splitter schools worry me too. I think I'd have trouble getting back to Boston or getting into Chicago ITE.

Would you be terribly unhappy if you did this? It seems like the best option here. The law won't be going anywhere, and as somebody who will be starting LS in the fall after three years out of undergrad, I can tell you that the growth and experience you get from even a relatively brief period out of school is invaluable. Also, working a 9-5 is fantastic in terms of scheduling LSAT study.

I'm not opposed at all. I'm still pretty young so I'm in no real rush. Ideally I'll probably apply this year and see what happens in my cycle. If I'm not happy I'll probably just retry the next year. I'm really curious to see if an LSAT score <170 the 2nd time around would really hurt me. I know I can get 173+ but nothing is a guarantee and I need to figure out if the risk is worth the reward. My guess is it will be because my target schools take highest LSAT. I'm not sure how they feel about a drop in score though.

Here is what I'd do. Sign up for Oct LSAT, and then Dec if you don't get what you want. Apply ED at NU, and regular at BC/BU. If you don't get an offer you like, try again the year after.

NU doesn't even look at the apps til Dec, so there is no harm in waiting until then. Other schools I don't know, but the vast majority of apps aren't even started until after the Oct test.
