166/164/4.0 ED to Virginia
I realize this forum is about to be swamped by June testers, but thought I would ask anyways.
I'm a retake- got a 164 in December, got a 166 this June (today). A little disappointed, as I was averaging a 168 in PTs, but it is what it is. Anyways, 4.0 GPA, so that should give me a boost. I want to work for the DOJ straight out of law school, or maybe a non profit first and then DOJ. Regardless, I'm probably looking at DC. What do you think my chances are?
UVA ED
UVA RD
Georgetown ED
Georgetown RD
Michigan
Chicago
Vandy
George Washington
Thanks!

I applied last cycle with same lsat, slightly lower gpa. You should be in at GW and UVA ED. Probably in at UVA RD but maybe a waitlist. Georgetown I would say WL. Don't know about the others.

Thanks for the reply. If you don't mind me asking, did you ED at UVA yourself? Or regular decision? What about GW? Was any $$ involved? (I realize I should be happy to get into any of these schools, but still thought I would ask).
Thanks again!

Really? Or is that just forum humor? I was under the impression that ED usually helped reverse splitters at UVA.TCScrutinizer wrote:Time to apply to W&L.

I ED'd 3.89/166 and got in. I doubt I would have made it in RD. Info in my profile.

Awesome! Just curious- I know they have no reason to throw money at ED'ers, but does anyone know if this has ever happened before? Additionally, is there a list of the best schools (in terms of IBR) around TLS?joeshmo39 wrote:I ED'd 3.89/166 and got in. I doubt I would have made it in RD. Info in my profile.

Got in with 4.0/166 regular decision. I applied in mid/late October. I wrote a really UVA-targeted essay too.

UVA just upped its LRAP and it is better now, someone ranked LRAPs in a post a little while ago, it wasn't perfect but it was something. EDers can get money but with numbers like ours we wouldn't get it ED anyway.upalittletoolate wrote:Awesome! Thanks for the reply- I'm hoping to have my app done by late September. I realize you're not attending UVA ITE, but did they happen to offer you any scholarships? What were your softs like?kmap wrote:Got in with 4.0/166 regular decision. I applied in mid/late October. I wrote a really UVA-targeted essay too.
Haha- I know what you mean. I'm not expecting any money, but I have some decent softs so I can always hope. I did find that thread, so if anyone else is looking:joeshmo39 wrote:UVA just upped its LRAP and it is better now, someone ranked LRAPs in a post a little while ago, it wasn't perfect but it was something. Not sure if it includes an updated UVA entry though. I'll keep looking.

Additionally, here's the TLS explanation of UVA's LRAP:

The law site at virginia.edu seems down though. Anyone know of a link to the newest info on their LRAP aside from their site? (Press release, thread, etc.)
