GPA: 3.95 (3.97 if weighted) from a 1st tier university with a low GPA avg (poli sci and econ)
LSAT (three times): Cancel-169-Cancel; I had a panic attack/walkout situation in 2007 when I first took the test. I took it again in June 2009 and got a 169, but was not satisfied as it was lower than my PT's of ~175. So, I took it again in 2010, but canceled that score too b/c I mis-bubbled a section.
SOFTS:
Masters in Public Policy from a top program (GPA ~3.9, worked full-time while attending school)
One-year research fellowship in S. Korea
Worked for two years at a defense policy analysis firm
School to which I intend to send applications, in order of preference, are:
1) Chicago/Stanford [tied]
3) Michigan/Berkeley [tied]
5) UVA (can claim residency)
6) Northwestern
7) Duke
9) Georgetown
10) GMU (Can claim residency, safety school)
In addition to admission predications, I'd appreciate advice on if and where to ED. As a law and econ devotee, I am inclined to ED at Chicago (top choice) right now, but if you feel that Chicago is out of my reach and I would be better served by throwing a ED at a lower preference, like UVA or Michigan, please let me know.
Also, I'd appreciate any thought on LSAT re-takes. I know 4x over 3 years would look bad, but I feel like I really could do better if I can just control my anxiety. Then again, perhaps 169 is enough for what I want and I should instead concentrate on forging a solid application.
Thank you.
