3.55/ 173 UVA?
I have a 3.55, with a pretty strong upward trend. I know it hardly matters at all, but I'm well above the average gpa at my school (3.18). I'm also a hard science major, which can lead to a lower gpa.
I'm taking the LSAT on monday, and I'm really hoping for a 173. I've been practicing between a 170 and a 179 (on about 20 tests, my average is a 175, but a little lower on the more recent tests).
Really what I'm curious about is how much applying ED to UVA will help? If I only get a 170, and am therefore below both medians, should I retake the LSAT in October? I'm also a Virginia resident, which helps I think? From what I've read last year about 8,000 people applied, only 1000 of which were residents? 40% of the class must be from Virginia.

If you do score between a 170-175, then I think you're a shoe-in if you apply ED.

Wait until you get your LSAT score, but if you score as well on that as you've been doing on your PTs, you should be fine with an ED.

That should be fine.
I think you could get in RD to UVA with a 171.

I think in-state with a 172 would be hard for UVA to pass up. Just my read on it.
Edit: sorry that was a terrible post. I mean to say I think a 172 in-state would be accepted RD. You may want to hold off on the ED then to maintain leverage.

Re: 3.55/ 173 UVA?
Okay, so I took the June LSAT and result... 175!
UVA is still definitely my dream school. I'm curious what people think about getting money? I 100% want to go to UVA, so if I applied RD and didn't get in, I'd never get over it, anxious that I might've gotten in ED. On the other hand obviously I'd love to be given money.
Of the schools ranked higher/lower than UVA, where do you think my best chances are?
