Wustl Undergrad, chances at T14?
Hey guys,
I'm a finance major at Wustl with undergrad gpa 3.92 and lsat 176.
Army ROTC cadet, involved in fraternity, office of orientation, started a student organization to provide meals to homeless shelters in St. Louis.
What do you think my chances are for admission and scholarships?
Here's where I'm applying:
Yale
Harvard
Stanford
NYU
Columbia
UVA
Duke
Wustl
Penn
Minnesota
Michigan
Florida

If not flame I have to ask - why did you include the name of your school in the subject? Who cares?
You should have said 3.92/176, chances at HYS. T14 is a certainty.
I hate calling flame on every post asking a dumb question, but come on really?

I hope to beat your LSAT score so I can feel superior to you in one way..
However, you're probably a lock-in everywhere except HYS and schools which like to YP. (Michigan)

WUSTL undergrad? Out at the T1. Even Wustl law won't take people from that diploma mall. Couldn't even get into Northwestern?

WUSTL isn't a degree mill but it's certainly an overrated, rankings-gaming UG.Desert Fox wrote:WUSTL undergrad? Out at the T1. Even Wustl law won't take people from that diploma mall. Couldn't even get into Northwestern?

I lived in a fairly upscale suburb of Chicago and not even one out of 550 of my HS class went there. I'm guessing its full of the very rich Midwesterners who could get Ivy either.D Brooks wrote:Credited. I only say that because my roommate when I lived in DC a few summers back went to WUSTL and was from somewhere in Indiana. He didn't get into HYPS. Chicago, Columbia, Penn, Duke, and Georgetown all WL'ed/rejected him. He chose WUSTL.

WUSTL has plenty of New Yorkers. I actually got a half-tuition scholarship from Wash U but it wasn't enough to pick it over Dook or Dartmouth.Desert Fox wrote:I assume its full of kids from the east, who couldn't get Ivy? *shrug* Might of had better grades and been in less debt if I picked Wash U.

Assuming that this is a genuine & serious post, you might want to try to retake the LSAT to obtain a higher score. Also consider summer classes at your local community college to get that GPA up to where it needs to be.
If, seriously speaking, your posted inquiry is honest, accurate & sincere, then your biggest hurdle is not getting into law school but in developing enough common sense to practice law in a manner beneficial to your clients.

WUSTL has about as close to zero prestige in Chicago as possible, in general. For law it's decent.D Brooks wrote:I only say that because my roommate when I lived in DC a few summers back went to WUSTL and was from somewhere in Indiana. He didn't get into HYPS. Re: Wustl Undergrad, chances at T14?
I wasn't trying to brag, but since it is going to be tough admissions year, I wanted a realistic assessment. I only mentioned my school because I'm not sure if law admissions takes into account where you went to undergrad.
I wanted to know if my softs have the possibility of pushing me into HYS.
As for ROTC, I'm trying to decide whether I should commission into the active duty Army or request an educational delay to attend law school first. Where I could get in would be a factor in this decision.
