Chances at these schools

Post by willrobawc » Thu May 20, 2010 9:44 pm

Greetings, I am a rising senior at a private school in NC. I am URM and I will be Senior Class President. I have a good resume with a couple of internships. I have a 3.68 and am scoring a 154 in practice LSAT's. I was wondering my chances at these schools. Thank you in advance

Catholic
Richmond
Loyola-Chicago
Howard
Maryland
Brooklyn
Louisville

It's hard to guess before you have an LSAT score. But considering most people score at least 2 points lower than their practice tests (giving you a 152) here's what I'd say:

Catholic - In
Richmond - In
Loyola-Chicago - In
Howard- WL, In
Maryland - WL
Brooklyn - WL, in
Louisville - In

You should think about trying for a few more higher ranked schools. If you do get a 154+, you'd have a shot at some schools in the 20's and 30's, especially with your GPA.

I would say you have a pretty good shot at all. Maryland & Brooklyn are the only ones I think you'd be borderline and even then, I think you are in at both.

But, keep practicing and shoot higher.

I also would like to get some opinion on my chances at SMU. I have been gathering information about the school and would like to know my chances there with those numbers? Thank you in advance.

If you're black, especially male, you will be in at all of those. Shooting higher in the rankings is advisable here, but getting a 160+ is the real credited response. If you could do that you'd be T14 bound. Keep working at the LSAT and do as well as you can.
