Aight ppl, shoot it straight. where do I stand?
OK, first off, I'm ashamed of this username after tonights game, and I hope we re-sign him, but if we don't, I'll be just about as depressed as possible. Anyway, on to my question:
As it turns out, I had several idiotic withdrawls my 1st and 2nd years and my gpa will end up around 3.3-3.4. I'll have a 3.9-3.95 the last 2-3 years so there will be a strong upward trend. Duke is my dream school and I will also apply to Cornell and GULC. What will I need to hit on the LSAT to get into these schools? Assuming the worst (3.2-3.3) will I have any chance of admission? My softs are decent and I'm white so I have no excuse to underperform lol

Duke isn't likely regardless of your LSAT, I'm afraid. GULC is your best bet of those options, but I still think you'd need a 171-172 to have a decent chance. Then again, if you get a 171 or above, I'd exploit the quick-turnaround time of UVA ED and apply ED there first (they're also notoriously splitter friendly when it comes to EDers), then apply ED to GULC if UVA doesn't bite.

woah didnt realize how racist I sounded there...sorry: What I meant was, I'm white (as in I am not a minority that had to overcome any difficulties or serious adversities), my parents are affluent and I had everything given to me in life, thus, I theoretically have no excuse not to do well. Yikes, certainly not that much of a douchebag, promise.

Duke doesn't like splitters. Northwestern and GULC are the more splitter friendly schools. To have a shot at T14 you'll prob need 170+.

I believe he was trying to politely say you still sound like a racist ass.KingJames6 wrote:Fark-o-vision wrote:This didn't help, IMO.KingJames6 wrote:woah didnt realize how racist I sounded there...sorry: What I meant was, I'm white (as in I am not a minority that had to overcome any difficulties or serious adversities), my parents are affluent and I had everything given to me in life, thus, I theoretically have no excuse not to do well. Most acceptances have at least a 3.5.

I'd try and transfer to Iowa instead, if I were you.

I only accept admissions in the form of bra sizes and how much you enjoy 2-girl threesomes on a scale from "I'm okay with it" to "As often as I can get in one."lawyerhopefull wrote:what about transfers to drake, do they still use undergrad GPA or JD GPA?

I didn't think this came off bad. At least he's admitting he's priveledged. That's like the step where you at least admit you have an addiction. Most people don't get that far.Fark-o-vision wrote:This didn't help, IMO.KingJames6 wrote:woah didnt realize how racist I sounded there...sorry: What I meant was, I'm white (as in I am not a minority that had to overcome any difficulties or serious adversities), my parents are affluent and I had everything given to me in life, thus, I theoretically have no excuse not to do well. This. Thank you! I am absolutely NOT racist. I understand the importance of diversity and I personally love to broaden my horizons. All that I was trying to say is that I had a lot given to me and I took a lot of it for granted and I regret it.Drake014 wrote:I didn't think this came off bad. Duke looks tough with that gpa. I'd shoot for Vandy, there you'll need a 169/170. You can get in to Emory with a 166. Cornell will take you with a 170. You'll need a 172 or so for Gtown.

Even with a good upward trend? Would a school ever wait and watch my last year and see if I can get my gpa higher throughout my sr year after I've applied?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
