160 would probably do it if you qualify as a URM

Get recs from the DA while you're there. I'm sure that would help a good amount since the office is like 200 yards away from BLS

As a URM those graphs aren't that helpful because the sample size is so small in comparison to the normal applicant pool.BigFatPanda wrote:http://brooklyn.lawschoolnumbers.com/stats

Latino does not necessarily mean URM. OP, are you Puerto Rican or Mexican?

As a non-URM, you'll need about a 165, though if you capitalize off of your DA experience, you might be able to pull it off with a score 2-3 points lower than that. Hit the 165 and you should be golden.

Don't engage in false hope. You'll only be horribly disappointed in the end.
If you're latino, to qualify as a URM you have to either Mexican or Puerto Rican.

They'll WL you with somewhere around a 162 and ask you if you want to be considered for PT. A 165 will likely be enough for FT. However, they will give you ZERO $ as a low GPA splitter, so have fun with $200k in debt.Ineedhelpplease wrote:why am i not a urm?..... and if i am like i believe i am... what would the lsat have to be around.. i dont mind getting put into the part time program, ill work my way in to the full time.

nonsense....
167/2.9 with 24,300 scholarship = low gpa splitter with money
Best advice i can give you is try to score as high as possible, apply early, and dont seek admissions advice on this forum because you will get a lot of opinions that people will try to present as facts.

Re: HELLLPPP.... Brooklyn Law school?
wow a full ride? thats pretty nice with those numbers. did u apply really early in the cycle or have something else in your app that stands out? i recently tried to negotiate my scholarship (24,300 merit +5,100 need based so overall 29,400) with my st. johns full ride (44,290) and they told me that scholarship amount was based on a formula with gpa, lsat, and undergrad institution... my undergrad was william and mary so even if u went to harvard undergrad im confused how that equals to an extra 20,000? regardless they said they probably wont raise it, but if i want they can reconsider.... lol i said yes please reconsider.

Re: HELLLPPP.... Brooklyn Law school?
I actually applied kind of late (I think february) but my application was pretty strong other than the gpa--I spent a year editing my essays. My undergrad I a t1 state schl. I think the discrepancy is that my need-based is about double yours..the other 15..I can't say for sure, but I think my essays might have done it. There's a unique aspect to it, and even prior to me retake, fordham was willing to consider me for pt with a 161 and 2.8--the only thing I can think of is my essays/background.ixkofm wrote:wow a full ride? thats pretty nice with those numbers. did u apply really early in the cycle or have something else in your app that stands out? i recently tried to negotiate my scholarship (24,300 merit +5,100 need based so overall 29,400) with my st. johns full ride (44,290) and they told me that scholarship amount was based on a formula with gpa, lsat, and undergrad institution... my undergrad was william and mary so even if u went to harvard undergrad im confused how that equals to an extra 20,000? regardless they said they probably wont raise it, but if i want they can reconsider.... lol i said yes please reconsider.

Re: HELLLPPP.... Brooklyn Law school?
I had a 3.6 GPA and 163 LSAT score and got into BLS with a very good scholarship. (I am also Latina.) So yes, score as high as you can . . but the scores and GPAs are just one factor, ya know? It sounds like you're getting good experience at the DA's office, which will help. And try to get letters of rec from the DA, too. Good luck!
