which schools will take me 3.25/179
I have a strong preference for NY schools, but please suggest schools in terms of ranking. The higher the ranking, the better, preferably in the top 14.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I think you have a shot at one of NYU/CLS - not a great shot, but a shot. Otherwise scholly at Cornell/Fordham

I think this depends a lot on the reputation of your undergraduate institution and the rigor of your major.

One of the few situations where this is credited. If this GPA is from a BSEE from MIT, you are proly good for NYC T-6, if its in sports science from State U, not so much...amolson04 wrote:I think this depends a lot on the reputation of your undergraduate institution and the rigor of your major.

I predict that you will have a strange cycle and encourage you to apply to a broad swath of the T-14 (not just the NYC ones) if you are serious about being a lawyer, best of luck to you FRIEND.

CLS isn't happening, NYU is a reach. Cornell, Michigan, Penn, UVA, Gtown and Northwestern will probably bite. Duke probably too.
You have to leave NYC sooner or later.

I don't wanna leave NYC cause I have a fiance, and I don't want to long distance for three years. What can I do to improve my chances?

If you want NYC, then apply to Fordham as a safety along with CLS, NYU and Cornell. Also apply to other top 14's though, if for no other reason than to get good scholarship leverage.aquadreamer wrote:I don't wanna leave NYC cause I have a fiance, and I don't want to long distance for three years. I don't know how much this will help, but make sure that you convey this fact in your application. NY is a strange city in that everyone wants to live there, but it can't hurt to demonstrate a concrete reason to want to stay in NY.aquadreamer wrote:I don't wanna leave NYC cause I have a fiance, and I don't want to long distance for three years. That being said, ED to either Columbia or NYU and apply early.

Much better than my answer. Applying early is the key. Penn's not that far from NY, might be a viable option for you if NYU and CLS are no good.BioEBear2010 wrote:I don't know how much this will help, but make sure that you convey this fact in your application. Yes, commuting from the City to Penn every day is doable but will be unplesant and (sans car) expensive.

ED to NYU, not CLS.

Even with a car, it isn't cheap: the turnpike, gas, tolls for one of the tunnels, tolls for the Ben Franklin or Betsy Ross or whatever other bridge ... plus, spending 2+ hours each way in Jersey in a car? Unpleasant indeed.Veyron wrote:Yes, commuting from the City to Penn every day is doable but will be unplesant and (sans car) expensive.

CLS and NYU isn't happening. Targets are Michigan, Virginia, and Penn. Northwestern isn't happening without WE.Desert Fox wrote:CLS isn't happening, NYU is a reach. Cornell, Michigan, Penn, UVA, Gtown and Northwestern will probably bite. Duke probably too.

My advice is that nothing is guaranteed as a splitter. Make sure to keep your options open.
