How accurate was LSP for you
because i have nothing better to do at work.
- Deny and Weak Consider: I did not apply to any Deny or Weak Consider schools.
- Consider: applied to 9 Consider schools. The breakdown is: 3 admits; 3 waitlists; 1 rejection; and 2 still pending (will update when i find out).
- Strong Consider: applied to 4 Strong Consider schools: 3 admits; 1 withdrew before decision.
- Admits: applied to 3 Admits: 1 admit; 2 withdrew before decision.
Interested in how accurate LSP was in predicting others' cycle, particularly if anyone got into a school they were Weak Consider or Deny.

Re: How accurate was LSP for you
I was an "admit" everywhere I applied (in fact, everywhere on LSP except HYS Columbia and NYU), and was waitlisted at two places. In everywhere else.

all of my admits were correct,
all of my strong considers were waitlists,
all of my considers were waitlists.
didnt apply to anything less than 'consider'

why didn't you apply to HYS with those numbers?thickfreakness wrote:I was an "admit" everywhere I applied (in fact, everywhere on LSP except HYS Columbia and NYU), and was waitlisted at two places. In everywhere else.

Mine was accurate if I didn't check the URM box, even though I am URM.

No interest in living up north, even if only for a few years. Also, I don't think I would've gotten in since I have multiple scores.86revolt wrote:why didn't you apply to HYS with those numbers?thickfreakness wrote:I was an "admit" everywhere I applied (in fact, everywhere on LSP except HYS Columbia and NYU), and was waitlisted at two places. Re: How accurate was LSP for you
All my "admits" were correct.
All my "strong considers" were admits.
All my "considers" (with the exception of Vandy) were admits.
My one "weak consider" was an admit.
Overall, I would say my cycle played out better than LSP would have predicted. However, I am also an older student splitter with interesting work experience, so I expected my cycle to be unpredictable.

not even stanford? your numbers make you a strong consider there and that seems to suggest either admit or waitlist at the least. oh well, what's done is done.thickfreakness wrote:No interest in living up north, even if only for a few years. Extremely inaccurate for me. But that is because I'm a URM. It was accurate for 3 out of the 19 schools I applied to.

Not interested in living on the west coast, either. It blows some people's minds that I don't want NYU or Chicago either, but I just have a different set of career goals and geographic preferences than most candidates and I've only applied to schools that would ideally suit both sets of criteria.86revolt wrote:not even stanford? your numbers make you a strong consider there and that seems to suggest either admit or waitlist at the least. oh well, what's done is done.thickfreakness wrote:No interest in living up north, even if only for a few years. 2.2UGPA/155LSAT, I was deny everywhere I applied, got in two places, rejected at two places, withdrew from the rest because I got into my top choice...

admit/wl/rejection
Deny: 0/0/0
Weak Consider: 0/0/0
Consider: 0/2/4
Strong Consider: 2/3/2
Admit: 6/1/0
Overall, it was ok at predicting, but I got WLed at an admit and rejected at some strong considers.
Deny: 0/0/0
Weak Consider: 0/0/0
Consider: 0/2/4
Strong Consider: 2/3/2
Admit: 6/1/0

Re: How accurate was LSP for you
Applied to 18, 1 deny, 1 weak consider, 6 consider, 5 strong consider, 5 admit:
Admit: all in
Strong consider: all in
Consider: 3 in, 2 waitlist, 1 deny
Weak consider: waitlist
Deny: Denied
Pretty good track record, only bit off - I got in at a 48% school and dinged at a 52% school. Still pretty accurate.

Re: How accurate was LSP for you
I'm still waiting on several decisions, but so far I'd say LSP hasn't been terribly accurate, but close. I hope I get into at least one of the 'Consider" schools, but my applications were sent pretty late in the cycle. I think this accounts for the waitlists at schools I expected admits and denies at schools I expected waitlists.
Admit: 6 admits/1 waitlist/2 pending
Strong Consider: 4 admits/1 waitlist
Consider: 3 rejections/6 pending
Weak Consider: didn't apply to any
Deny: 3 pending
Admit: 6 admits/1 waitlist/2 pending
Strong Consider: 4 admits/1 waitlist
Consider: 3 rejections/6 pending
Weak Consider: didn't apply to any
Deny: 3 pending

Re: How accurate was LSP for you
Admits: 1 acceptance, 2 waitlists (all T3s)
Denial: 1 admit with $$$ (T20).....
I am a big time splitter, 168/2.66 not a urm, guess I shouldn't have expected too much from lsp, but I do find it funny how backward my cycle was from what was predicted.

Re: How accurate was LSP for you
agreed. though i find it really hard to believe that SLS would even waitlist me with a mid-160s lsat. but 5/6 considers is a very solid showing. in your opinion did you have amazing softs? <--- this question also goes to anyone who got into a Weak Consider.eldizknee wrote:Considers: 5/6 with the last one still pending
Strong Considers: Waiting to hear back on the one strong consider I applied to
Admit: 3/3
Wish I'd have applied to some weak considers

consider 1x - $$
strong consider 2x - $$ at both
admit 3x - $ at one
withdrew from 4 schools before decisions as I made it into my top choice
