In at Notre Dame with $22,000 per year (brings cost to 18,000)
In at IUB with $8,000 per year (resident, brings cost to 16,000)

Waitlisted at UVA and Georgetown. On hold at Northwestern. I've turned down all other offers. Is Notre Dame a good option? I sent a LOCI to UVA and have visited both UVA and Gtown since I was waitlisted. I'm not on any special, preferred, chosen people waitlist at Georgetown so I'm not too optimistic. I have no idea what my chances are at UVA even with all the groveling I've done, or what my chances are at Northwestern (1 year work experience). I don't want to wait another year since I have nothing lined up work-wise.

I know TLS has all the answers...what should I do?

ND is the clearly better option here. I wouldn't hold my breath for UVA, since they received more deposits than anticipated, which means they're unlikely to take any WLs this year. And GULC rarely goes past the PWL. However, NU did take quite a few WLers last year to maintain their medians, so they might need your 170 yet.

i'm blue-- thanks for the advice!! I have to ask though, how do you know how many deposits uva received?

Nothing personal, I'm just hoping its tls gossip and not fact because I'm very much hoping I might get lucky there. In my mind, Georgetown and Northwestern pale in comparison to UVA.

I should have done ED. I had the form ready to go but I chickened out at the thought of paying sticker and not knowing what my other options would be. Now, I'm ready to throw my money-that-isn't-really-mine at them.

Frankly, I don't think there's even a question...take a year off and re-apply. You want T14 and you'll get it next year. Plus, the year off, if you don't waste it, gives you a perspective and some experience that will be invaluable, both as a lawyer and as a person. Frankly, I think going to LS right out of UG is a mistake and even though you graduated in '09 you're still young enough that another year won't make a difference.

Seriously, re-apply...you'll be happy you did

Another poster was accepted to UVA but was told there's no scholarship money left because of more deposits than expected.
