HELP! 173 on Feb LSAT
My numbers up to this point were 166/3.17
I applied to USC, Hastings, Davis, and a bunch of other crap schools that i would never go to...
Today the scores came in for February and naturally, I'm pulling my hair for not applying to UC Irvine and other top schools that I could have gone to!
Someone please help me. What schools are still open for apps? and even if a schools deadline has passed, will they consider my application?
Plus, how do I get USC to take me with a 173/3.17... i'm still on the borderline there.

Write a LOCI to USC, mention the new score they should take you.Xizenta wrote:My numbers up to this point were 166/3.17

Sit it out and apply in the fall. Even if you somehow slid in a few places this cycle, there's a pretty good chance you're in with $$ at some of those places and possibly even cracking the T14.Xizenta wrote:My numbers up to this point were 166/3.17

Part-time deadline at Georgetown is 3/2, and you'll probably get in.

What other full time programs are still taking applications?...
I don't want part time unless it's at least in So. Cal where I live...

I'm in the same position. Had a 153 before, now I have a 165 on my record. Going to fill out a few last minute apps but more than likely I will be looking at next cycle.

Congrats on the score increase. That's nice jump.
As has already been stated, fire off a LOCI to USC with the updated score. That's pretty significant info.
Also, send an app to Irvine. With them, you have the advantage that everything is still a bit informal. I'm sure they'd be thrilled at an opportunity to snap up a 173. Send a paper app. There's no fee. If you want, call the admissions office and explain your situation. Try to talk to Dean Ortiz. Write a killer "Why Irvine?"

If you do PT at Georgetown, I think it's pretty easy to switch into full time after the first year. PT is only 1 fewer class than full time, and you could potentially work part time during the day and borrow less money.Xizenta wrote:What other full time programs are still taking applications?...

Wait a year --> make some money/do something interesting .--> reapply with some t-14's in the mix.
BTW I don't think Irvine is accredited but I might be mistaken.

Write a LOCI to USC, send it tomorrow, hope for acceptance with $$$. If they don't throw $$$ at you, consider holding out and reapplying next cycle, targeting T14 schools.
Or fire off an ED app to UVA on Monday. I think Monday is the last day they'll accept ED applications and you have a shot at acceptance there. The UVA degree does carry weight in CA.

They're not accredited, but it's only a matter of time. Far more significant is their lack of an alumni network. Apparently though, the faculty are working their asses off to get OCI. Still, it's a good school -- T-30 if the rankings on TLS are to be believed. It's also in SoCal if he doesn't want to move, and it comes with an unconditional half-tuition scholarship.badfish wrote:Wait a year --> make some money/do something interesting .--> reapply with some t-14's in the mix.

Yes, I would really like to go to Irvine, but their deadline has passed, i'm pretty positive I won't be considered. Still sent an e-mail asking though.

Re: HELP! 173 on Feb LSAT
So Dean Ortiz mailed me back this morning and said that the Feb 15 deadline is a hard one, and that the December LSAT is the latest one they accept. How unusual. Has anyone heard of a school not accepting all scores available at the time of application review, or accepting late apps?
