3.72, 169+

3.7 Undergrad from Cornell
169 on December 2009 LSAT
Just took the makeup Feb. test on the 20th and would guess I scored 173-176
Unfortunately, I am applying at the end of the cycle.
My top choice is Columbia, but am applying to a number of T14 schools.

Any thoughts? Basically I need some discussion to keep me from going insane waiting for the new score and then for decisions.
Obviously Columbia is a stretch for me, but I feel pretty solid w/ UVA, GTown. Are my feelings good?

Wait a year and apply in September. You will have your choice of schools. Why settle for GULC when you can get T6 with your numbers (provided your Feb. score IS 173-176).

Thanks for the advice, but I already put my bag in the hat for Columbia. That said, if I am rejected this year (likely) and want to wait a year and re-apply, are my chances hurt when I apply a second time?

Doubtful. Even if they reject or WL you late in the cycle and your new score is in their range, you should still probably get in with an earlier application and revamped PS.

Thanks, that's good to know. There's just the box to check as to whether you've applied before and I didn't know if that was just for clerical or verification purposes or if they actually bump re-applicants down at all.

PS. Thickfreakness is awesome.

I know. 8)

Also, you will really need to emphasize something about you that's changed since the last time you applied. I reapplied to a school this cycle that I was WLed at last year, but I raised my LSAT over median and wrote a revamped PS for that school explaining how I'd grown in the last year. Obviously, the LSAT is the primary reason I got accepted this cycle, but I think that making an effort to show how you've improved (besides LSAT score) is going to be important, especially at a school like Columbia.
