I registered a 3.8 at a top-40 private school and the aforementioned score.
My softs, I think, are strong.
My (1/30-2/2 complete) list includes:
Duke
IU-Bloomington
Columbia
UCLA
Georgia
Notre Dame
NYU
Emory
Past week includes:
William & Mary
UNC
Vanderbilt
Virginia
I'd appreciate any insight on my chances because of the lateness of the applications.

Applying early is overrated. However, applying early to get scholarship is not. You may just have to pay sticker price if school's scholarship fund runs out. Other than that, you're looking good.

Thanks for the feedback. I have, in fact, applied to Penn. So I take it UNC is considerably more difficult out of state?showNprove wrote:Edit: You should seriously consider applying to Michigan and Penn.

Agree. Applying early is absolutely helpful (except in certain cases, maybe, like Yale). I'm reading about people who applied Dec/Jan and are now getting WL'ed or rejected from schools I got into in November.waitingforanswers wrote:This is false.BigFatPanda wrote:Applying early is overrated. Anyway, all this naysaying isn't helping you out any, though so I'll try to be a little more useful:
I have those exact stats, unremarkable softs (as in, I have some, but they're not anything crazy), and out of your list of schools that I've applied to, so far I've gotten into Duke, Columbia (I know, total surprise), and Vandy; waitlisted at Penn and UVA; and ignored by UCLA or NYU. I think you're fine for Vandy and possibly Duke, if you showed interest (wrote a Why Duke or in any other way tried to convince them about your genuine interest in their school).
