Upward trends help, but the most important thing is the final number. Unless you have significant WE to distance yourself from your gpa (ie, to show that it doesn't reflect your academic ability) then it's not a game changer.

I just sent in applications and most prediction sites have me at 50/50 for Rutgers (both) and Miami. My 2.1 was followed by three very consistent years of 3.4 and a decent LSAT. The bad grades are a very clear outlier on my report, plus my gpa at my degree school is listed there too. Also, Im in state for Rutgers fyi. Im prepared for a summer of waitlists if necessary.
