Long time lurker, first time poster. I was not going to apply until next cycle (I was gonna try to get the lsat up a few points), but due to UVA extending the ED deadline I am thinking about applying.
My letters of rec are really strong, and I have some half decent softs (interned for a senator on the hill, interned for homeland security, various awards from school).
Any guesses about my chances?

In that case I'm leaning towards applying, and if I don't get in I'll retake the lsat and apply as soon as apps open next cycle (or does how early you get your app in not really matter for ED?)

It does matter, but what do you have to lose submitting for this cycle?multimh wrote:In that case I'm leaning towards applying, and if I don't get in I'll retake the lsat and apply as soon as apps open next cycle (or does how early you get your app in not really matter for ED?)
EDIT: Unless of course you are hoping for $$, another school, or an improved economy. In that case, if you can get to 170 with your gpa, you are golden. Of course, you already knew that.

If UVA is one of your top choice and you are unsure of how much of an LSAT jump you can make and/or really want to be in school next year then I would say apply. With good softs, I say your chances are better than 50%.
