171 3.48

Post by Kate07 » Thu Jan 28, 2010 5:40 am

My GPA (3.48) was lowered somewhat due to medical problems; I expect law schools to understand, but that still doesn't change the number, does it? I did go to a USNWR top 10 university not known for grade inflation. My 171 LSAT score seemed pretty awesome until I started reading this forum!

Unsure of appeal of other qualities. I'm a really good musician and did that overcoming serious illness thing, but I didn't do cool internships and don't have much work experience.

My applications are in or will be in by 2/1 at:

Fordham
NYU
St. John's
Georgetown
George Washington
Michigan
Case Western

I get that it's a little late at some of those schools. I had delayed awareness of that rolling admissions thing. :-)

I'm particularly interested in Case at the moment because of their Health Law program. (Georgetown has a good one too, but admission seems less probable!) I'm pretty sure I'll get in unless I really mess up on my application, but I'm also hoping for a scholarship. Thoughts?

If you don't get Michigan I bet you could ED your way in next cycle.

You should apply to all the T7-14 schools, and see who bites on your 171.

I'd add on Cornell, Ohio State, Boston U or Boston College, and at least according to LSP, you have a good shot at Texas-Austin.

If you applied earlier you'd be a lock on Georgetown. Now it might be iffy, but you need to apply there.
