I was practicing around a 175 (172-178), I choked on the actual. I signed up for February, would 1 to 5 points higher make a difference or am I already doomed because of my gpa. I want realistic employment opportunities or/and scholarships. If you have some insight (more than the two or three samples on the calculators which I believe exaggerate my chances) please let me know. Please chance me. I have been very depressed since I got my lsac gpa so please be nice but honest.

Well its not a huge split. 170 – 3.26 urm (AA) ,….. great softs I think, president of a club, duel bachelor’s, study abroad, teaching English in china, volunteer, upward trend 2.7 community college
( I knew community college would get the last laugh somehow), 3.5 graduating university, 3.92 last two years. Worked full time through out school like im sure most people did. Negative soft- my graduating university is 3rd Tier and im left handed. (actually i graduated summa cum laude according to my graduating institute just because i had above 3.5 and 3.9 for the last two years...lol uh..
) Oh and i dont know if i can get the best roc's because i wasnt very social with my teachers and the two that loved me when i was the president of the club for one of my majors are dead (seriously). three years before i graduated they just died of old age. one was an alum of columbia haha um..

There are probably several URM splitter threads of note for you to watch throughout this cycle. However, you can probably find a wealth of info on BLSD and what not. Anyway, Kurama should be around shortly to help you out; if he doesn't then I'm sure if you PM Kurama20 that he will direct you to some quality info.
My gut is that there's very little chance of getting shut out of MVP, and you have some very good odds of T6. Good luck to you on your retake!

If you're a URM (AA) with a 170 and a an acceptable GPA, aren't you golden at at least one T6? Besides T6, couldn't you get mad money at one of the T10? Really, congrats dude. Good luck on Feb test, but honestly, you should have great choices anyway.

not only is t6 pretty much guaranteed, but HYS is possible for a URM w/ your numbers.

Really hys? I think they will have a hard time swallowing my gpa for a less than stellar LSAT. The only school I think I have a good shot at in the t6 now is nyu or cooley.(but let's be honest nyu isn't really t6) But I don't know that's why a brother is asking. But do you think a bad gpa from community college is just a tiny tiny bit better because it shows a reverse trend relative to difficulty.

HYS is likely out, but CCN is a very strong possibility, and you're likely to get $$$ at MVP.

Another thread by OP:
Definite flame.
amg0996 wrote:I'm wanting to get into the best law school possible but one fact is putting me off from applying to top schools. My undergraduate school is UTA the University of Texas at Arlington, not very well known.
My LSAT is 172, my gpa is 3.5 ( but my last two years were 3.92), I double majored in Russian language and Political Science, and I am a brother (URM). Opinions please? I want to go to UT but would like to know if I have a chance at better schools (I think I have a good chance at UT? I'm a Texan) despite my gpa and the undergraduate university? I am interested in IP law and scholarships:) thank you
willing to move,

Honestly, no clue. I rag on NYU and CLS sometimes but I don't create alts and start random threads. Especially ones that aren't going to start much controversy.itsfine wrote:hopefulundergrad wrote:Another thread by OP:

Yeah I posted that a long time ago , before I took the LSAT and realized my cc gpa counted. I was sure I would get about a 172 and was very curious but didn't want people to just say take it then come back and post. I'm sorry I feel like I wasted your time with the first post but it really encouraged me, thank you. Oh and the t6 thing was a joke I figured they were obvious jokes, not funny but jokes.
