Yeah I'm aware my numbers aren't that great, just asking for some help here. Here's a list of schools I'm applying to, please let me know if you think I'll be accepted/rejected/waitlisted or whatever other information you may have. Much appreciated.

Syracuse
Albany
Michigan State
St. Louis University
University of Mississippi
Northeastern

I'm aware some of these top schools that are top 100's may be a long shot, but it's worth a try, maybe get a waitlist or something.

New Yorker here...if I remember correctly, you should have a shot at Albany and - I think - even easier time getting into 'Cuse. Whether or not either is worth it is up to you...Albany has its (limited) perks with government, clerking, etc. if those interest you...Syracuse, idk, maybe strong alumni network, I can't think of much else though, and their sticker price is outrageous for that caliber of a school...

You really don't have any sure things on your list (too many reaches). Might want to add some more targets. Albany is your best shot. You are probably in at 'Cuse as well.

I've worked in the legal field for 2 years. I work for an attorney who scored lower than I did on the LSAT, and had a lower GPA. He made $160,000 last year in a small town market. He's also a judge. Again, I thank you for your input. Good luck at Virginia.

The legal market is completely different than it was when he entered it 15+ years ago. Also, he is the exception to the rule, but please by all means ignore my hundreds of hours of research and make a snap decision based upon your experience with one lawyer.

Oh, and according to Lawschoolpredictor you are a straight up rejection at all those schools.

The first part of his post remains solid advice. If you retake, you have the opportunity to get to your friend's salary in 2 years of work instead of 10 or 20.

This was a retake. I did even worse on the September exam, but increased substantially on this exam. I may retake in February and try to get a few more points to get in at Buffalo.

Wow. Jaws is a first rate asshole. My dad went to UVA Law in the 70's. He would be very disappointed with you.

Looks like we're in the same boat (3.22/151) with New York backgrounds (U of R). I'm hoping to hear back from Albany and Syracuse this week (receipt confirmation in late October), but UB did reject me if that helps you figure out where you stand. If UB is the goal, I would either retake (which doesn't sound like it's a realistic option) or build up some great work/intern experience.

Chances are we are both in for a tough decision if we do get in to these schools. For me personally, my decision will probably be dictated by the financial aid package. 40k+ per year is alot to take on in any circumstance. I used to be a debt collector and there were plenty of lawyers to choose from...

What do you guys think my chances are getting into Syracuse & UB: 3.75/152, Summa Cum Laude, UB Grad, Poly Sci, LORs from SUNY Distinguished Professors, 10 years full-time employment, President of a well-known WNY corporation?

^Buffalo would be hit or miss. You have a good gpa and softs, but they slightly favor the lsat over gpa. All depends if they like your softs enough really. I would say in at Syracuse with little to no money.

I'm a 1L at a TT school not in the top 10% and I got a firm job this summer.

Hey bud, you have some good options, me personally I'd lean to Syracuse, but thats just me.

I would take a look at the employment data for the schools you are interested in before you write off someone's advice to "retake or don't go." It may sound harsh, but ITE even strong T1 schools are a risky investment.
