you mean 20pts isn't unusual? Oh come on, lets pass on the false modesty here.Phoenix97 wrote:It is not an incredible success story...just studying hard and putting in the necessary amount of effort.
Another thing I don't understand is why you assume you need a significantly higher score to get into a great law school, considering the acceptances you have already snagged with the stats you have now. It's almost beginning to seem like you just posted this to have people chance you base on your anomaly of getting into decent law schools with decent stats...but, as someone who seems to clutch unwaveringly to statistics and numbers, you should have known that it would be impossible for anyone to offer anything but lukewarm speculations. But since people wanted to offer you definitive probabilities instead of just guessing, they advised you about what you could achieve if you put more effort into aiming higher...then you got defensive and started throwing out illogical assumptions pertaining to why you shouldn't take their advice.
I'm getting the impression that you will ultimately just stick with what you've got as far as acceptances. So...a sincere congrats on getting into these two schools.
I got into ASU with a really weak GPA - they're 25th gpa was a 3.37 last year, so I was 0.47 behind their 25th gpa, and my LSAT was exactly their 25th. Moving further up to more competitive schools, like Cornell, the 25th gpa jumps to a 3.55, where I'm 0.65 behind their 25th gpa - not their median, their 25th. So whereas a 25th LSAT could have made passing at ASU, I'm really doubtful that a 25th LSAT could make passing at Cornell (see lsn link below)- because the more competitive the school is, the worse and worse my gpa looks. And again, check lsn - even with a 10-14pt LSAT jump, the T14 is still a sea of red on lawschoolnumbers. As I already said multiple times, I'm more interested in BU&BC than anything between them and Cornell - after BU&BC, the next school I'd pick is Cornell. A double digit jump (i.e. 10-14) would give me an outside shot at Cornell - and this is about probabilities. If I do get into BU or BC, and then take a year off and study and get lets say a 14pt jump, and then don't get into any T14 except Georgetown (which is what lsn suggests would happen), then I'd still choose to go to BU or BC.
You can call it defensive, w/e, I hardly think that answering questions or explaining misunderstandings b/c others misunderstood or made false assumptions equates to being "defensive" or "dismissing" other people. I mean really, its as if you think I'm supposed to be here, listen to what people suggest and when they ask a question, my answer should be
